First EEI Follow-up Conference

The Follow-up Conference on the Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI) was held in the presence of H.E. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel along with H.E. Minister of Education Dr. Yosry El Gamal and H.E. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hany Helal.

Representatives of the World Economic Forum, multinational ICT corporations, small ICT companies working on IT applications in educational purposes and civil society representatives attended the conference which reviewed the major EEI's achievements in the first part of this year as well as highlighting the initiative’s success stories.

EEI has been earlier launched under the auspices of Her Excellency the First Lady Mrs. Suzan Mubarak during the World Economic Forum held last May in Sharm El Sheikh. EEI aims at developing the quality of educational delivery tools - in cooperation with the WEF - through the effective use of ICT as well as constructive public-private partnerships.

The Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI) was launched at the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Sharm El Sheikh last May under the auspices of Egypt’s first lady Ms. Suzanne Mubarak with the aim of improving the quality of education using ICT tools.
