Xceling

e-Learning Competence Center (ELCC) has successfully participated in the project "XCELING", an EU project (Erasmus + program).

The aim of the project is to raise and build capacity in higher education in Egypt.

The project launched on 25-26 February 2018 at Cairo University and Helwan University in the presence of all Egyptian and European partners.

  

Project General objectives:

  • To create a Network of Language Innovation Centers in Egypt.
  • To update the curricular design for foreign language teaching by adapting the best innovative practices in the teaching of foreign languages to the Egyptian context.
  • To encourage the use of ICT and the renewal of the resources for foreign language teaching.
  • To co-create new open access ICT based foreign language instruction materials addressed at disadvantaged groups (including Arabic-speaking migrants and refugees anywhere), with the participation of both European and Egyptian experts.

Participates in project six Egyptian and six European universities:

Egyptian Universities

  • Cairo University
  • Alexandria University
  • Helwan University
  • Al Azhar University
  • Pharos University
  • Minia University

European universities

  • Salamanca University
  • Heidelberg University
  • Poitiers University
  • Trinity College Dublin University
  • Coimbra University
  • Bolonia University

(ELEC) has many activities in this project, as follows:

  • integrate new learning technological techniques according to e-learning principles and standards.
  •  Train project partners to develop e-learning courses and materials.
  •  Ensure the quality of content according to international and educational standards.
  •  Participate in developing the e-content.
  •  Participate in management, publishing and sustainability activities of the project.
  •  interchange experiences between Egyptian and European partners.
